State Role Title: Housekeeping &/or Apparel Worker I
Job Duties: The Housekeeper / Laundry Worker is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary surfaces throughout the facility, ensuring a healthy and comfortable environment for veterans, staff, and visitors. Responsible for cleaning and servicing resident rooms, baths, and all areas of the facility; dusting furniture and equipment, cleaning windowsills, emptying trash, and arranging furniture as needed; and performing floor, carpet, and upholstery care. This role supports infection prevention and enhances the overall appearance and safety of the facility.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience using cleaning chemicals
- Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, or long-term care facility environment a plus
- Experience performing floor maintenance (stripping, waxing, sealing/buffing) and carpet care
