These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of jobzoneonline.com, the JobZone mobile app, and our in-person career-fair events. By creating an account, registering for an event, posting a job, or otherwise using any part of our services, you accept these Terms.
What JobZone is
JobZone is a career-fair company. We host in-person career events around Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia; run a job board where employers post openings; let job seekers create profiles and upload resumes; and provide a mobile app for check-in and account management. Our role is to connect candidates and employers — the hiring decision belongs to the employer, and the application decision belongs to the candidate.
Eligibility
JobZone is intended for adults seeking employment and for employers hiring in the United States. You must be at least 18 (or 16+ with parent/guardian permission) and legally permitted to work in the U.S. or seeking opportunities that match your work authorization.
Rules of the road
You agree not to: create fake or fraudulent profiles, harass other users, scrape or systematically extract data, attempt to break our security, use bots/automation beyond ordinary use, infringe anyone’s intellectual property, or use JobZone for any unlawful purpose. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or terminate access if we believe you’re violating these rules.
Employer obligations
Employers agree to post only real, currently open opportunities; comply with all applicable anti-discrimination laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, USERRA, and Virginia/Maryland equivalents); use candidate information only to evaluate and contact that candidate; and honor any commitments in your job posting.
Your content
You keep ownership of resumes, cover letters, profile text, and other content you upload. By uploading, you grant JobZone a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, and make Your Content available to employers, for the limited purpose of operating the services and connecting you with potential employers.
No employment guarantee — service “as is”
JobZone is a connector, not an employment agency. We do not guarantee that you will get a job, that any specific employer will see your resume or respond, or that any specific candidate will accept an offer. We do not background-check or verify the credentials of employers or candidates beyond ordinary anti-spam and anti-fraud checks. You are responsible for your own due diligence. The services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, JobZone, LLC and its members, managers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the services. JobZone’s total aggregate liability to you in any twelve-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid JobZone in that period, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Before filing any lawsuit, you agree to email us at janet.giles@jobzoneonline.com describing the dispute. If we cannot resolve it informally within 30 days, any lawsuit will be filed exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and both sides consent to those courts’ jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will email registered users and post a notice on the site at least fifteen (15) days before the change takes effect. Your continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
