Who They Are

Maryland Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense program dedicated to strengthening the relationship between civilian employers and National Guard and Reserve Service members. ESGR promotes a culture in which employers value military service and support employees who serve.

What They Do

Maryland ESGR works with employers, service members, and community partners to:

• Educate employers on Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) responsibilities
• Provide guidance and support to service members balancing civilian careers and military duties
• Offer mediation services to resolve employment-related issues involving military service
• Recognize supportive employers through awards and recognition programs
• Conduct outreach, training, and engagement across the state
