Who They Are

The Maryland Department of Labor’s Veterans Services team, including Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVER) and Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialists, is dedicated to helping veterans and eligible spouses successfully transition into meaningful civilian employment. These programs ensure veterans receive priority support and access to workforce resources across the state.

What They Do

LVER and DVOP staff work directly with veterans, employers, and community partners to support employment outcomes through:

• Career counseling and individualized employment assistance
• Job search, resume, and interview support tailored to veterans
• Outreach and advocacy with employers on behalf of veteran talent
• Support for veterans facing employment barriers (DVOP focus)
• Coordination with training programs, education, and apprenticeships
• Veteran-focused services through American Job Centers
